Today, the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance chose six winners out of more than 80 submissions. The Lab is a new initiative launched by the UK, US and German government to identify, design, and support the piloting of new climate finance instruments with the aim of unlocking billions of dollars of fresh private investment for climate change mitigation and adaption in developing countries. The winning FiRe Priority “Debt fund for prepaid energy access” will now undergo in-depth analysis conducted by the Climate Policy Initiative and BNEF.
