The East and Southern Africa Regional Selection Meeting will take place in Cape Town on February 20, 2025, alongside the Africa Green Economy Summit (AGES).

This marks a special milestone as the panel, formed during the pandemic, will meet in person for the very first time. During the meeting, panel members will select two climate finance solutions to advance to the Global Selection Meeting, where one will ultimately be chosen to be developed during the Lab program.

From February 19–21, 2025, in Cape Town, AGES will connect high-impact climate and sustainable development projects across Africa with global capital. This year’s theme, “Building a Climate Resilient Africa: Catalyzing Investment and Innovation in the Green and Blue Economies,” will spotlight five sub-themes: green reforms, nature and biodiversity, climate finance, the future of African cities, and green industrialization.

CPI’s Global Managing Director, Barbara Buchner, will deliver a keynote speech during the summit’s opening plenary session, while CPI Senior Advisor and Regional Lab Lead Jonathan First, interim chairperson of AGES’ advisory board, will also feature as a speaker.
