Lab member International Finance Corporation (IFC) has announced a USD 1.2 million investment in the 2021 Lab instrument, Amazonia Viva (formerly known as the Amazônia Sustainable Supply Chains Mechanism).

Amazonia Viva is a financing mechanism designed to support sustainable economic development in the Brazilian Amazon. This investment will enable cooperatives and associations of traditional communities and family farmers to enhance their operations and adopt sustainable practices.

The partnership among IFC, Natura, VERT Securitizadora, and FUNBIO highlights the effectiveness of blended finance and public-private partnerships in tackling complex development challenges and safeguarding the Amazon rainforest.
