Mr. Purna R. Saggurti serves as Chairman, Global Corporate & Investment Banking at BofA Merrill Lynch/ Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Mr. Saggurti is responsible for leading all Executive Vice Chairman, Vice Chairman and other senior bankers in Global Corporate & Investment Banking to focus on the Chief Executives and the Boards of Directors of BofA’s large and global clients. He served as the co-Head of Global Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Previously, he was Head of Americas Origination at Merrill Lynch, which included all Investment Banking, Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets Origination in the U.S, Canada and Latin America. He served as Co-Head of Global Corporate & Investment Banking for Bank of America Corporation. He served as Global Head of Industrials Energy & Power, Real Estate Gaming, Lodging Corporate and Investment Banking of BofA Merrill Lynch (formerly Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.). In the last twenty-four years, he has advised clients around the globe including those in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. He has worked on landmark transactions for a number of clients around the world including Dow, Dupont, Engelhard, GE, Hoechst, Huntsman, Lyondell Basell, Merck, Potash Corp and Reliance. He is on the board of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, the Global Diversity & Inclusion Council and the Bank of America Environmental Council. Mr. Saggurti is a Member of the Graduate Executive Board of The Wharton School, the Chairman of the Board of Overseers of the Whitehead School of Diplomacy and International Relations and a member of the Board of the US-India Business Council. He also was a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and Asia Society Joint Task Force on New Priorities in South Asia: U.S. Policy toward India, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Mr. Saggurti holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from Andhra University, a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School in Philadelphia.
