Chief Advisor, Climate and Energy Finance, Danish Energy Agency
Asger Garnak is leading the finance team of the Danish Energy Agency, part of the Danish Ministry of Energy, Utilities and Climate. He is responsible for linking the international negotiations on climate finance to operational implementation through international channels and bilateral cooperation. Specific focus is on mobilizing private investments through innovative instruments.
Previously, Asger was a senior advisor on climate and energy finance at the Inter-American Development Bank. Prior to that, he worked for the Danish Ministry of Climate and Energy where he developed international partnerships focusing on emerging economies and was a UNFCCC negotiator. Asger has also worked as an economist in consulting and in an NGO.
